3 for 1 Birthday

This year it happens that I'm celebrating turning 22 three times! I had my surprise party last week and today I had dinner with my family, since my dad is out of town later this week. Plus I'll be going out with friends on the actual day. Dinner tonite was so good, and everyone loved it! I decided to make the Gigi sauce I blogged about before, since I know its good and didn't have to worry about any kitchen disasters. We had it with whole wheat rotini, some broccoli and some delicious and simple garlic bread made with Earth Balance and garlic powder.

But the real winner for me was dessert!! New York style cheesecake from Sinfully Vegan, which we topped off with a strawberry sauce. It was hard not going back for seconds. Mmmm mmmm. So creamy and so authentic, everyone enjoyed some of this. Its really rich though. A 9" cake makes 16 servings (or less if you want), but that sliver of heaven will cost you about 400 calories ;)

Billy and I had a great lunch for today. I made the Chicken and Rice Soup from La Dolce Vegan. If you have LDV, make this soup. Its quick and delicious. Billy ate all my leftovers that I wanted for tomorrow! It tastes just like that soup you crave when you get a cold. It has little pieces of seitan in it, but they cook up with the soup in 15 minutes, so there's no hassle.

All your food looks great. I haven't tried cheesecake since going vegan so I'm really drooling over your sliver of heaven.

The soup is great! I've made it twice and am now inspired to make it again soon!

I love your blog, btw!

Happy Vegan Cooking! :-)

Happy birthday x3! Most things I've tried out of Sinfully Vegan haven't turned out well, but that cheesecake looks divine! Soup looks yummy, too.

kati, what have you made? I'm curious. I've made the celebration loaf, which was alright, the icing was the best part; the double chocolate cake which was amazing, the banana split cake, also good; the boston cream pie, which didn't turn out too well, and the vanilla cake, which had the same batter, so again, the icing was the highlight. Oh yes, and the chocolate chip cookies weren't very good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! (Belated...)

The pie looks SO insanely good! I'd take two for 800 calories and just deal with it. Besides, calories don't count on your birthday!! :)
