Next stop...my thighs.

I got to use my slow cooker again yesterday to make Bacon and Lentil Soup from the Simple Little Vegan Slow Cooker. When we got home, the room smelled so good! The bacon strips (Yves) in this soup give it an amazing smokey taste since it cooks all day. I threw in some aduki beans I had in the fridge and subbed out the cilantro for basil, oregano and rosemary. So delicious!! I also made a french baguette from Garden of Vegan to eat with the soup. Nothing beats dunking fresh bread into a good soup, it was my favourite part of the meal!

Some exciting news (for me at least, not my body)... Katie a.k.a Sam's Mom generously gave me a copy of Vecan Cupcakes Take Over the World, since she got another one for Christmas. I'm not making any cupcakes til Valentine's Day, but I cannot wait. I owe all future enjoyment of cupcakes to Katie :) Thanks so much!!

hey! i randomly found your site googling "vegan peach blueberry cobbler" b/c i love that recipe from la dolce vegan too. i'm actually not vegan, but my partner is and he would love this blog.

just thought i'd say hey!

in case you know the answer, i'm trying to figure out if that recipe would be as good with frozen fruit since peaches and blueberries aren't in season right now.

That soup looks delicious and healthy. I'd have a hard time waiting until Valentines Day! Which ones are you going to make? I think I might make myself the tiramisu cupcakes for VD (since I know there's no way in hell Marty ever would). :)

Raising Kahne, here's the recipe for Sloppy Josephine's from the Simple Little Vegan Slowcooker:
2 pounds vegan burger crumbles
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup fresh or frozen diced onions
1/2 cup diced green bell peppers
1/2 cup dark nonalcoholic beer (I used 1/2 cup water with splash of tamari instead)
3 tablespoons brown mustard
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker, mix well. Cook for 6-8 hours on low.
